The application automates remote steering and driving of model railway locomotives (scale H0, G, N, ...) equipped with DCC digital decoder controlled by ROCO Z21(TM) command station or compatible digital command stations such as Railbox(TM) or Digikejs(TM). It uses an open ROCO Z21 communication protocol.
Locomotive features such as speed, driving direction, lights functions, sounds functions can be scheduled/sequenced, recorded and automatically executed.
A single feature execution is called an “Event” and the sequence of events is called a “Journey”. The application organizes automations in Journeys comprising of Events.
The app changes its main screens background everyday (there are few backgrounds in total).
Definitions:
1. Event - A single order or request being sent to the digital command station (such as ROCO Z21(TM) or compatible) to activate or inactivate a function of a digital decoder inside a locomotive:
- Driving direction, speed, lights function, sound function, other functions supported by a digital decoder inside a model train or locomotive.
- Built-in system sound (e.g. locomotive horn, platform sounds, steam sound)
2. Journey - a sequence of Events, sequence of steps.
The App features of the following functionalities:
- Controlling and recording the steering of locomotives in the form of sequence of Events.
- Replaying recorded sequence (Journey).
- Scheduling of requests (so-called “Events”) being sent to the command station and automatically sending them in a sequence (so-called “Journey”)
- Updating the Journey with Events sequence according to the communication with the command station.
In-app purchases:
- Unlocking the number of events above 12 for all Journeys (up tp 25, 50 and 200 Events in each Journey)
- Enable looping of the Journeys playback
- Unlocking number of locomotives’ addresses above 2 used in all Journeys
- Sending a tip
Connectivity:
The application works solely with the Z21(TM) DCC command station or compatible protocol (Railbox or Digikejs).
The application uses Z21 Wi-Fi to connect and send requests and receive responses so the communication is bi-directional.
To purchase a paid feature the reconnection to the Internet is required.
The app is to automatically control model railway trains equipped with digital DCC decoders. It sequences requests carrying commands that a User wants the train (or locomotive) to do.
The app sends requests to Z21 digital command station using ROCO Open Z21 communication protocol via UDP. This is an open protocol provided by ROCO Company allowing others creating 3rd party Apps interacting with their Z21 (TM) digital command station. These requests are called Events.
